The Transgender Inclusion and Education Foundation, Inc. (TIE Foundation) provides trans people with support and space to connect and find community in a world that is increasingly hostile and abusive to trans people.
Programs include trans athlete events, monthly support groups for trans and queer folks, and more. TIE also hosts periodic Allyship workshops.
TIE Foundation Projects:
- Trans Athlete Teams: The TIE Foundation funds and supports all-trans athletic teams to increase visibility and access in sports and center trans joy and belonging. Most recently, the TIE Foundation supported Team Irontransmasc at IRONMAN Oceanside 70.3, where Schuyler, Chella Man, and Cal Calamia won 3rd place in the men's relay. TIE is building partnerships with gyms, pools, and sports organizations to create more affirming spaces and opportunities for trans athletes to compete and thrive.
- Free Support Groups: The Foundation hosts monthly support groups for trans and queer individuals that are completely free to attend, with ASL interpretation available (and free) upon request. Schuyler and Dr. Jan facilitate these.
- Life Coaching: Schuyler has been providing 1-on-1 life coaching for a diverse range of clients for over a decade. The TIE Foundation supports the sliding scale and free sessions to increase accessibility.
- Workshops & Allyship Trainings: Schuyler provides free workshops that the TIE foundation supports.
- Retreats: The TIE Foundation designs and leads deeply affirming retreats for trans communities, including a highly subsidized five‑day healing and movement retreat for 34 trans masculine athletes of color, TRANSCEND for Trans Athletes, in the Savegre jungle of Costa Rica. These retreats offer workshops, strength and movement sessions, community care, and on‑site support from trans masc therapists of color. Participants consistently described the experience as life‑changing, leaving with renewed connection, confidence, and lifelong community. and other retreats are to come.
