Hello! If you’d like to participate in my #TDOV campaign, download the following slides and post them on Wednesday March 31st at noon EST or anytime after. If you’d like to replace the first slide’s graphic with a photo of yourself, you’re welcome to do so! My first slide will be with my trusty whiteboard and you’re welcome to use that photo as well. Please make sure to tag me in the slides so I can like & comment!
Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility – a day to celebrate transgender and nonbinary people around the world. It is also a day to remember trans folks’ fight and empowerment.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO DO TODAY:
TAKE ACTION FOR TRANS FOLKS NOW
There are at least 44 anti-trans bills in this country right now. Most are attacking children. Your actions can have a massive difference. Please visit pinkmantaray.com/transbills (the button below) to either call or email the governors of these states and demand that they veto the bills. Schuyler has provided full email templates, all you have to do is add your name and hit send.
for more updates on these bills.
PUT YOUR PRONOUNS IN YOUR BIO
Sharing pronouns not only dismantles the idea that gender expression (how we present ourselves and how we are received) always equals gender identity (who we know ourselves to be), but also creates a safe space for trans and gender nonconforming folks to share our pronouns and be gendered correctly, too.More on this at pinkmantaray.com/pronounsinbio.
FOLLOW TRANS CREATORS
Here are some starting suggestions:
JOIN PINKMANTARAY SUPPORT GROUPS & WEBINARS
Community is one of the most important and valuable parts of visibility. Schuyler’s support groups and webinars are completely free and have ASL interpreters as every meeting for accessibility.
Here is a list of upcoming meetings in EST:
Trans Masculine POC Group……………….Sunday, 4/4 at 1pm
LGBTQ+ Group…………………………………………….Sunday, 4/11 at 1pm

Educational Webinar for All……………….Sunday, 5/16 at 3pm
Recognize it is not on the LGBTQ+ person to educate you on everything LGBTQ+. That is your responsibility.
Visit pinkmantaray.com/allyship for resources on how to be the best ally you can be.
DON’T EXPECT YOUR TRANS FRIEND TO BE YOUR TRANS DICTIONARY. USE RESOURCES LIKE THIS INSTEAD.
There is no such thing as a passive ally.
Correct people when they misgender trans folks; engage in conversations when people exhibit bigoted behavior, and stand up for queer folks, even when they’re not around.
Call in > call out.
Value conversation over confrontation.
Small actions are still valuable.
You don’t have to speak in front of thousands or have a large social media platform to be a good ally. Smaller actions like gendering or naming someone correctly can also be powerful.
